The Top 10 RevOps Influencers to Follow

Forrester's Rise of Revenue Operations survey in 2021 revealed that 86% of director-and-higher decision makers believe RevOps is crucial to achieving their business goals.

In fact, Head of Revenue Operations is ranked the No. 1 fastest-growing job in the US by LinkedIn, Business Insider, and CNBC.

So why is everyone so revved up about RevOps?

RevOps was born out of the need to get sales, marketing, and customer support to work together as one revenue team. While businesses have always tried to achieve this alignment – especially between sales and marketing – the term "revenue operations" started gaining popularity around 2020.

RevOps came about because the way customers buy has changed. There are more touchpoints than ever before. And today’s marketing and sales roles are much more technical and replete with tools.

In this scenario, as so many businesses try to do more with less, RevOps is THE strategic weapon that can help you bring down CACs, improve speed-to-lead, and reduce media spend without sacrificing the pipeline.

We've seen this impact first-hand. At Airframe Labs, some of the biggest wins for revenue growth came from projects where we used data and technology to create a better handoff between marketing and sales.

Learn More About RevOps From the Leaders

Because it's a growing field, there's no blueprint for businesses or degrees for individuals who want to pursue RevOps. The best way to learn about revenue operations is by learning from practitioners and experts in the field.

In this article, we're showcasing the Top 10 influencers you can follow for insightful, practical content on all things RevOps:

Ranking Methodology

  • The Social Reach Score is pretty straightforward: The higher the number of followers on Linkedin and Twitter, the higher the score.

  • To calculate the Content Score, we factored in the frequency of posts, relevancy of posts, and practicality. Practicality is 1.5x the weight of the other two factors because we value actionable insights over everything else.

  • And for the same reason, we weighted the Content Score 2x the weight of Social Reach to get the Total Weighted Score.

Now, let's look at the Top 10 RevOps influencers you should follow.

#3: Guillaume "G" Cabane

Guillaume, aka G, says he’s been "doing internet" since 1997 and has 15+ years of experience leading B2B growth. G used to be the VP of Growth at successful unicorns like Drift and Segment, and is now the Co-founder at HyperGrowth Partners as well as a growth advisor to “rising stars” in the growth ops toolset including G2, Gorgias, Metadata.io, Madkudu, and others.

G rose to fame in the growth community as Segment’s “mad scientist” Head of Growth. He pushed the envelope of what was possible by bringing together data, tools, and experiences (like using Drift + Segment + Postmates so a prospect live-chatting on the website could get a free cup of coffee delivered to them in real time).

What was incredibly powerful was G’s ability to frame these types of “breaking the fourth wall” stunts in an analytical way. G argued that by pushing growth tools to their limit, you could craft experiences that break through the noise and help you convert prospects at a higher rate. And when you have higher conversion rates, you can outspend the competition, grow faster than them, and ultimately box them out of the market.

In a recent interview with Captain Data, G talked about the evolution of RevOps in the B2B industry and the right way to incorporate RevOps into a business.

Currently,  Elena leverages her expertise to drive revenue growth as Amplitude’s PLG Expert In Residence. She's also a Board Member at Netlify.

Elena’s LinkedIn page is a goldmine of growth lessons. You'll find practical advice, unique perspectives, and even some good-natured ribbing, which have sparked thousands of reactions and conversations. She’s also great at sharing diagrams to help understand mental models faster, which is part of why her following on LinkedIn has grown so dramatically over the past year.
