I grow companies.

Marketing has evolved. As software has eaten the world, marketing has become more measurable, and we can now hold marketing teams accountable for revenue. We’re seeing the emergence of a new type of CMO, a Growth CMO, who leverages technology and data to grow revenue in a predictable, measurable way.

At the same time, thanks to platforms like AWS, Stripe, FBA, and Bubble, the cost of creating new products has dropped dramatically. It used to be that product innovation was a defensive moat, but that’s no longer as true.

This shifts the burden of differentiation and defensibility from product to growth. The team that can capture the market quickly and cost-efficiently wins.

I’m a Growth CMO. I work with startups like Pencil (recently accepted into YC), scale-ups like MIRROR (acquired by Lululemon), and large enterprises like Twilio. Before consulting, I was a 5-time startup Head of Marketing, held P&L responsibility, and also led teams at Microsoft and SoFi.

I work with startups to put the right data and technology in place to create measurability and accountability for revenue. Then I hold myself and my team accountable for growth.

My writing has been featured in TechCrunch, VentureBeat, and Business Insider.

Most writing on startups and growth is unoriginal and overly-broad. The writing you’ll find here makes new arguments, and offers specific examples. Accordingly, the posts here are long, infrequent, but hopefully worth the wait.

I do startups because I’m a builder. I write because I’m a teacher. If you’re a startup ready to grow, get in touch.
